Distribution and Collection

The water and sewer service area covers the entire city limits of Commerce as well as a portion of the adjoining area of Jackson County and a portion of Banks and Madison counties. The system serves approximately 8700 people.

The water distribution system consists of four elevated storage tanks with a capacity of 1.6 million gallons. There are 104 miles of water mains ranging in size from 16 inch to 6 inch and 750 fire hydrants.

The sewer collection system consists of 98 miles of sewer mains, 1185 manholes, and 6 pump stations.
