Councilman Richard Massey
A native of Commerce, Georgia, Richard Massey was born in 1934 and was elected to the Council in 1989. Councilman Massey is a graduate of Commerce High School, went to Grady Memorial Hospital School of X-Ray Technology, worked in Atlanta for seven years and served two years in the U.S. Army. Councilman Massey retired from BJC Medical Center after thirty-nine (39) years as Manager of the Radiology Department.
He is married to the former Charlotte Ray. They have a son, Rick, daughter-in-law Terri and two granddaughters, Lindsey and Sydney. Councilman Massey is a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Tumbling Waters Society of Jackson County and the Jackson County Board of Health.
Councilman Massey and his wife reside on Wilson Drive.
His hobbies include reading, fishing, hunting, yard work and spending time with his granddaughters.
