Welcome to Main Street Commerce!

Small towns evoke the best of what Southerners are as a culture. They are places where tradition is the lifeblood of the community, where neighbors give a helping hand. Small towns are places with a heart.

While visiting our downtown, we hope you will enjoy strolling along our tree-lined sidewalks, and talking with business owners and residents while discovering all that our small town has to offer. Grab an ice cream float at the local drugstore soda fountain, pick out the perfect outfit at one of our shops, gather with friends for a meal at one of our local restaurants or take to one of our parks for some play time. Hop on your bike or take your pet for a walk.   If you like history, then stop by the Downtown Development office at 1645 S. Elm Street and pick up a self guided walking tour brochure.  Get to know how Commerce came to be !  Whatever brings you to our wonderful downtown, we hope you have a chance to explore and enjoy!

Main Street invites you to attend our community events held throughout the year! Check out our list of Community Events!

Commerce is a Main Street City with programs focusing on historic preservation, economic development and community events that create a vibrant downtown. We are always looking for volunteers to help us accomplish our goals to revitalize our downtown. Check out our Volunteer Opportunities. We would love to have your input and feedback!
